Firefighters from area fire departments work the scene of a house fire Tuesday on Graphite Lane in Cape Girardeau County. Gordonville Fire Protection District battalion chief Sean Mitchell said the fire, which was confined to the attic, was contained within about five minutes. "The damage was not very extensive," Mitchell said. No one was injured in the fire. Several departments responded to the call, which came in about 2:30 p.m., including the Cape Girardeau and Jackson fire departments and the Gordonville and Delta fire protection districts.
