MUSIC STUDENT RECEIVES FIRST PLACE IN AUDITIONS

Valerie Holland, a student in the Music Conservatory at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, was recently awarded first place in the bi-annual National Association of Teachers of Singers auditions held at Avila College in Kansas City.

Participants are classified into divisions based on age and year in school in the three-round competition.

Holland is a 1990 graduate of Notre Dame High School and is daughter of John and Dorothy Holland of Cape Girardeau.
