KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- The state tourism commission has picked an interim director to replace Blaine Luetkemeyer who is running for Congress.

The Missouri Tourism Commission plans a national search, but deputy director R.B. "Bob" Smith will fill in until then.

Luetkemeyer, a former Republican lawmaker from St. Elizabeth, was nominated by Gov. Matt Blunt in 2006. He is expected to resign his state position later this month.
