SEDALIA, Mo. -- The Missouri State Fair is getting underway this week.
The annual 11-day event typically draws more than 300,000 to the fairgrounds in Sedalia.
Admission will cost $2 on opening day today for people 6 and older. Events on the first day include a parade and farm toy show. The grandstand performers will be country singers Jerrod Niemann and Candy Coburn.
Festivities will continue Friday with a barbecue contest and the coronation of the Missouri State Fair's queen.
