Mississippi River bridge work set for next week

East- and westbound Highway 34/74 in Cape Girardeau County will be reduced to one lane next week while Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform routine maintenance on the Mississippi River bridge between Cape Girardeau and Illinois. Weather permitting, the work will be done from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily Monday through Sept. 22. The work zone will be marked with signs.
