An 11-year-old Millersville boy out riding his bicycle on Highway 72 suffered moderate injuries Wednesday evening after he crested a hill and drove into the path of an oncoming car.

Brandon Welker was taken by ambulance to Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, said the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The driver of the 1994 Mercury, Dorothy Mudge, 73, was not injured.

The incident was investigated by trooper Aaron Harrison.
