ADVANCE, Mo. -- A memorial service is scheduled for next week for a Stoddard County soldier killed in Afghanistan, the Dexter Daily Statesman reported. The service for Spc. James Burnett Jr. will be held Sunday at the old high school gymnasium in Advance. He died last week when his vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb in Kandahar Province of Afghanistan. He was 21. KFVS reported that a memorial fund has been set up in his name at the Bank of Advance.
