Amy Statler, a student at Meadow Heights High School, has been named a U.S. National Award winner in science.
The United States Achievement Academy recognizes less than 10 percent of all American high school students. Statler was nominated for the award by Judy Slinkard, a science teacher at the school.
Statler is in the ninth grade and is the daughter of Rick and Barbara Statler of Patton.
