CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. -- The mayor of Caruthersville died in a fire at his home Wednesday night.
Rick Davis, who was elected mayor in April, was at his home at 303 Eighth St. when a fire broke out between 10:30 and 11 p.m., according to reports.
The fire is believed to be accidental, but the investigation is ongoing.
The previous mayor of Caruthersville, Diane Sayre, also died in office as did the next acting Mayor Pro Tem, Frank Morgan.
