MAN STRUCK BY TRAIN

A 36-year-old Jackson, Mo., man was killed about 3:45 p.m. Saturday when he was struck by a train in east Cape Girardeau County.

County coroner Mike Hurst said the man's death was still under investigation, but the victim was apparently walking on the tracks near County Road 654 when he was struck.

The man has been identified, but his name was withheld pending notification of family members, Hurst said.
