Timothy McDermott, 22, was charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action for the stabbing death of Matthew Knoerle. McDermott remains jailed on bond. The indictment was handed down Friday.

Investigators said McDermott was depressed over a breakup with his girlfriend and was trying to cut himself.
