LIBERTY, Mo. -- A man thought driving a van loaded with ammunition over a garbage fire would be a good way to extinguish the blaze. He was wrong. Clay County Sheriff's spokesman Jon Bazzano said the man had been burning garbage when the fire got out of control. He tried to put it out by driving the van over the flames, but the tires ignited, sending him scurrying because his vehicle was loaded with firearm ammunition. The man wasn't cited.
