A single-vehicle accident July 3 claimed the life of Nicholas Holt, 16, of Malden, Missouri. Holt was thrown from his 2005 GMC pickup when he veered off the left side of the roadway, striking an embankment and causing the vehicle to overturn. A single-vehicle accident July 3 claimed the life of Nicholas Holt, 16, of Malden, Missouri.

Holt was thrown from his 2005 GMC pickup when he veered off the left side of the roadway, striking an embankment and causing the vehicle to overturn. He was traveling north on Route WW, three miles north of Campbell, Missouri. He was not wearing a seat belt.

Holt was taken by ambulance to Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Arkansas, where he was pronounced dead.
