• Egyptian High School students will present the third annual madrigal at 7 p.m. Dec. 15 and 2 p.m. Dec. 16 in the Tamms, Ill., cafeteria. The madrigal, with a focus on blacks this year, is a "medieval celebration of the birth of Christ" and will feature a feast, concert and play. Call 618-776-5251 after 10 a.m. for tickets.
• Cape Girardeau Central High School will present its annual madrigal feaste Dec. 7 and 8 in the school commons. Call 335-8228 for tickets.
• C-SPAN and Charter Communications are offering $5,000 for the best entry to its annual video documentary competition. Entries from middle school to high school students will be accepted through Dec. 31. "Student Cam" asks students to pick a political topic and produce a 10-minute documentary.
