KIDNAPPED CHILD BACK WITH MOTHER

A 4-year-old Cape Girardeau boy was returned to his mother Thursday after he was abducted by his father and taken to Illinois, police said.

About 4 p.m. the boy's mother reported that her son had been taken from a residence in the 2000 block of Bloomfield Road, police said.

The man, a resident of Carbondale, Ill., took the boy and, with another man driving, drove across the Mississippi River. He was caught when he stopped near East Cape Girardeau.
