Jennifer P. Jones has been named a National Award winner in history and government by the U.S. Achievement Academy.
The academy recognizes fewer than 10 percent of all American high-school students.
Jones was nominated by Gerald Litner, teacher at R.O. Hawkins Junior High School in Jackson. Jones, a student at R.O. Hawkins, is the daughter of Steve and Patti Jones of Jackson.
She will appear in the U.S. Achievement Academy Official Collegiate Yearbook.
