NEW MADRID, Mo. -- A jailer for the New Madrid County Sheriff's Department was held Wednesday without bail, after being charged with two counts of forcible sodomy against a female inmate.

Authorities said the man charged, Johnny Bagwell, 32, of Marston was a jailer for about two months before the alleged incident.
The patrol said Bagwell resigned his job Monday and was arrested Tuesday. He is being held at the Pemiscot County Jail.
