Jackson gears up for students' return

Jackson School District school enrollment and open house dates:

• Class lists will be posted at each elementary building Monday. Classes begin Aug. 18.
• Enrollment for new elementary students (kindergarten through fifth grade): 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday.
• Gordonville Attendance Center open house: 6 to 7 p.m. Aug. 14 (informational meeting at 6:15 p.m.).
• Millersville Attendance Center open house: 6 to 7 p.m. Aug. 14.
• North Elementary open house: kindergarten 6 p.m. Aug. 13; first grade 6:30 p.m. Aug. 13; second grade 7 p.m. Aug. 13; third grade 6 p.m. Aug. 14; fourth grade 6:30 p.m. Aug. 14; fifth grade 7 p.m. Aug. 14.
• Orchard Elementary open house: kindergarten 6:15 p.m. Aug. 13; first, second and third grade 6:15 p.m. Aug. 14.
• South Elementary open house: kindergarten, first and second grade 6 to 7 p.m. Aug. 12; pre-kindergarten/ Title-1 6 to 7 p.m. Aug. 13; third, fourth, fifth grade and early childhood special education 6 to 7 p.m. Aug. 14.
• West Lane Elementary open house: 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 14; Back to School Night: 6 to 7:30 p.m. Aug. 28.
• Middle School: sixth-grade enrollment: 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesday; seventh-grade enrollment: 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday; Back to School Night: 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 19.
• Junior High: ninth-grade enrollment: 8 to 10 a.m. (A-L), 10 a.m. to noon (M-Z) Wednesday; eighth-grade enrollment: 8 to 10 a.m. (A-L), 10 a.m. to noon (M-Z) Thursday; either grade: 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday; Back to School Night: 7 to 8 p.m. Aug. 25.
• High School: twelth grade: 8 to 11:30 a.m. Aug. 4; eleventh grade: 8 to 11:30 a.m. today; tenth grade: 8 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the multipurpose building.
