CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Kent M. Householder, a senior at Thomas W. Kelly High School, has been named a finalist in the National Merit Scholarship contest.
He will advance in the competition. The process of selecting 6,000 merit scholarship winners from the finalists is now in progress.
Householder is active in Beta Club, Art Club, Science Club, Pep Club and SADD.
He plans to attend college and major in engineering in the fall.
He is the son of James C. and Jane Evans of Sikeston.
