Mayor Harry Rediger presents Roy Jones, left, Housing Coordinator for the Community Caring Council, with a proclamation recognizing Nov. 15 to 21 as Homeless Awareness Week in Cape Girardeau. Nov. 14 to 20 is also National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week. A crowd gathered at Wehrenberg Theater in Cape Girardeau on Monday to hear the proclamation. A homeless awareness display has been assembled in late November at the theater for the past six years.
