Cape Girardeau's U.S. Post Office, 320 N. Frederick St., reported finding a gun in one of their post office boxes today, said Sgt. Barry Hovis, spokesman for the Cape Girardeau Police Department.

Police are investigating the delivery and will run a trace on the gun to see if its been reported stolen, Hovis said.

Hovis described the gun as revolver but said further details on the caliber and model are not being released at this time.
