The Cape Girardeau Fire Department responds to a fire Wednesday in Cape Girardeau.

The Cape Girardeau Fire Department responds to a house fire Wednesday at 1719 West Point Place in Cape Girardeau. The fire started from an LP propane gas tank that exploded while a resident of the house was grilling in the backyard. Fire crews arrived to the scene at 1:40 p.m. seeing signs of smoke and flames at the house and quickly extinguished the fire. No injuries were reported, according to assistant fire chief Mark Hasheider.
