Gov. Jay Nixon nominated a new student representative to the Southeast Missouri State University Board of Regents on Thursday.

Kevin Magnan, a criminal justice major from Festus, Mo., was nominated for a term ending Jan. 1, 2014, to replace Brian P. Kelly, whose term is expiring. Magnan served as an intern for the U.S. Marshals Service in 2011.
