Cape Girardeau, Gordonville, Jackson and Gordonville firefighters extinguished a fire 30 minutes after it began around 11:45 a.m. today at the Leggett & Platt, Inc., facility.

Cape Girardeau, Gordonville, Jackson and Scott City firefighters extinguished a fire 30 minutes after it began around 11:45 a.m. today at the Leggett & Platt, Inc., facility in Cape Girardeau.

Cape Girardeau Fire Department Chief Rick Ennis said damage was unknown but that no injuries were reported. Ennis said the fire spread from the building's furnace and processing equipment onto the roof. He did not know the extent of damage.
