POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. Now when the Poplar Bluff Fire Department responds to a fire it will have the latest in technology available, a thermal-imaging camera.

Fire Chief Randy Hastings said the camera will allow firefighters to see when it's totally dark "in any kind of smoke."

The camera will also help firefighters navigate a room.

New, the camera would cost $18,000, but the department got it at a "substantial savings," Hastings said.
