CHAFFEE, Mo. — An early morning house fire in Chaffee caused extensive damage to the second floor and attic but the family inside the home escaped without injury.
Chaffee Fire Department Chief Sam Glency said a neighbor noticed smoke in the home and alerted the family their home at 408 S. Third St. was on fire. The fire department arrived on the scene at 7:37 a.m. and contained the fire within 40 minutes.
Glency suspects the cause of the fire was electrical.
