Drowning victim identified

The Dunklin County Sheriff's Office has identified the victim of Wednesday's drowning at the Ben Cash Conservation Area as 53-year-old Darrell Lynn Batchelor of Kennett, Missouri.

At 2:37 p.m. Wednesday, eyewitnesses called the Dunklin County Communications Center 911 line, requesting assistance.

Witnesses told deputies Batchelor had been swimming in an area off the boat ramp, when he went under water and were unable to find him.
