DEXTER, Mo. — A Dexter man was severely injured Friday when a lawn tractor he was driving pulled into the path of a pickup truck on Route AD near Dexter, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The driver of the tractor, 34-year-old Michael L. Carlson, was taken by helicopter to a Cape Girardeau hospital and treated for what police called "serious" injuries. The driver of the truck, 17-year-old Austin Mace of Dexter, was not injured.
