The students entered the national essay contest, writing on the subject "Famous Landmarks of the American Revolution."

Students honored were Laura Cupples, daughter of Carol and Tommy Couples; Branden Belvin, son of Ben and Linda Belvin; Sara Slaten, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Slaten.
