The Cape Girardeau City Council will meet behind closed doors Monday night in an effort to select finalists for city manager.
The meeting will start at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
Mayor Al Spradling III said the council hopes to choose five finalists and perhaps one or two alternates.
The council will notify the five finalists before making the names public and bringing in the candidates for interviews, Spradling said.
Eighty-eight people have applied for the job.
