VFW serving patriotic chicken, dumpling dinner

VFW Post 3838 has planned an all-you-can-eat fund-raising dinner to help support U.S. troops. Proceeds will be used to purchase items like bug spray, deodorant and coffee. Chicken and dumplings, fixed by Dorothy Poynts, will be available beginning at noon April 18 at the post at 1049 Kingshighway. The menu also includes green beans, corn and mashed potatoes.
