Caruthersville teen killed in accident
PORTAGEVILLE, Mo. -- A Caruthersville, Missouri, teen was fatally injured in a one-vehicle accident that occurred at 12:20 a.m. Wednesday, one mile south of Portageville. Michael L. Pietrzykowski, 19, was traveling south on Interstate 55, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Michael L. Pietrzykowski, 19, was traveling south on Interstate 55, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. His vehicle slid off the right side of the road, struck a ditch and overturned, ejecting him from the vehicle.
Pietrzykowski was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:50 a.m. by Coroner Jim Brimhall.
