Assistant Prosecuting Attorney Kenny Hulshof was "arrested" as part of the American Heart Association's "Cardiac Arrest" fund raising event. Taking the prosecutor into custody was Al Bisher, an officer with the Southeast Missouri State University Department of Public Safety. Hulshof was among 15 people who were arrested and asked to raise "bail" money for the Heart Association. The event raised $6,000. (Southeast Missourian archive)

Actor Read James portrayed Franklin in scenes from the summer of 1787. The production was sponsored by The Southeast Missourian, Schultz School's Adopt-A-School partner. Kathleen Keesee, right, president of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary Council 1111, presented a check in the amount of $1,000 to the Notre Dame High School Education Fund Foundation. The foundation transfered funds to help the school with its operating costs.
