Kathy Wolz, a member of the public relations staff at Southeast Missouri Hospital here, explains potential poisons found in the home to children attending story hour at the Cape Girardeau Public Library this week. The hospital is currently involved in a massive outreach program for preschoolers involving poison prevention. The "Mr. Yuk" program was developed by the National Poison Center Network. The $25,000 fund drive for the first phase of the Cape Girardeau Riverfront Park project cleared the half-way point today with a $1,000 contribution from Holiday Inn here. Once the $25,000 goal is reached, the City of Cape Girardeau will contribute a matching amount to pay for the first phase of the three-part riverfront development. Shown here discussing the park plans are, from left, Brent Spaeth, general manager of the Holiday Inn; Mary Foote, co-chairman of the park fund campaign; and Dan Drury, vice president of MidAmerica Hotels Corp.
