An off-duty Cape Girardeau police officer suffered serious injuries when he was involved in a traffic accident Saturday in Illinois.
David Tucker was riding a motorcycle when the accident occurred. He was transported to a Nashville, Tenn., hospital, Cape Girardeau police said.

Lt. Buddy Davis, who was traveling with Tucker at the time of the accident, said Tucker has a skull fracture, broken shoulder, broken collar bone and a collapsed lung.
No other information was available Sunday evening.
