Cape police investigating attempted armed robbery

Cape Girardeau police officers say they're searching for a man who reportedly approached a group of people with a knife and demanded money.

The people in the group fought off the suspect, who took off running, an officer at the police station said.

The incident took place in the 800 block of Themis Street between 8:30 and 9 p.m.
