Cape hits record high temperature
National Weather Service meteorologists said Cape Girardeau reached 93 degrees Sunday. According to the Weather Underground website, that was a record high temperature for May 6. The old record of 87 was set in 1986, the website said. NWS meteorologists forecast a 70 percent chance of rain today.
