  • Approved the first reading of an ordinance amending the city code, to allow a yield sign on Third Street at its intersection with La Cruz Street.
  • Approved the first reading of an ordinance granting special-use permit to Harry and Stephanie Birkhead for constructing, maintaining and operating a recording studio at 1124 William St.
  • Approved the first reading of an ordinance amending city code reducing the membership on the Historic Preservation Commission from 11 to nine.

Resolutions

  • Authorized the city manager to execute a license and indemnity agreement with the Southeast Missouri Children's Museum and Merriwether Investments Inc. for construction of a walkway and handicapped access to the building at 101 William St.
  • Authorized the city manager to execute a contract with Koehler Engineering and Land Surveying for professional services for Lewis and Clark Parkway, Phase III.
  • Authorized the city manager to execute a license and indemnity agreement with Jason Martin to construct a retaining wall at 2436 Brookwood Drive.

Liquor licenses

  • Approved temporary liquor licenses for Fred L. Higdon, doing business as Southeast Missouri District Fair, for an event held Sept. 8 through 15 in Arena Park.

Other

  • Approving an out-of-district sewer connection for Patrick W. Sulser at 1709 Flad Ave. in Sewer District No. 12.
  • Approved the sewer improvements extending served to Safety Kleen, Advanced Automotive and Serv-Pro on LaSalle Road.
  • Directed city staff to prepare a taxi ordinance.
