  • Accepted fee simple interests, permanent easements and temporary construction easements from various property owners for the improvement of Independence Street between Pacific Street and Kingshighway.
  • Granted a special-use permit to Palmar and Palmer LLC for constructing and maintaining a senior citizen housing project at 1400 West Cape Rock Drive.
  • Accepted permanent utility easements from North Point Center LLC and Thompson and Wesbecher Inc. for improvements to North Point Second Addition Subdivision.
  • Established no parking zones on West End Boulevard at the Broadway intersection.

  • Accepted a permanent storm-water easement and temporary construction easements from various property owners for storm-water improvements at the Silver Springs Road and Themis Street intersection.

  • Authorized acquisition of property for the construction of LaSalle Avenue between Interstate 55 and Route W.
  • Accepted a water line easement from Cape Girardeau Properties III LP, and Maco Properties LLC to serve West Court Manor Apartments.
  • Repealed no parking zones on Broadway and Clark Avenue and established new no parking zones along Broadway and Clark Avenue.
  • Vacated the city's interest in a sanitary sewer easement in Golden Eagle Subdivision.
  • Approved the record plat of Zieba subdivision.

Resolutions

  • Authorized the city manager to make an application to MoDOT for Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: a Legacy for Users funds for the Fountain Street Phase II Enhancement Project.
  • Authorized the city manager to execute a license and indemnity agreement with the Cape Girardeau Community Sheltered Workshop Inc. to construct and maintain a fence and parking lot on the easternmost 30 feet of the South West End Boulevard right-of-way north of Southern Expressway.
  • Authorized the city manager to execute a release of lien on property located at 541 S. Benton St., for the Community Block Grant Program.
  • Authorized the city manager to execute an STP-Urban Program Agreement with MoDOT for installation of uninterrupted power sources at various intersection on Kingshighway and Route K.

Appointments

  • Re-appointed Paul Grebe to a position of the city board of appeals expiring June 4, 2012.

Liquor licenses

  • Approved 50 liquor licenses for establishments throughout the city selling package liquor and liquor by the drink.
  • Approved a liquor license to Affiliated Investments LLC for retail liquor by the drink sales at House Party, 820 N. Sprigg St., Suite 6, with an amendment expressing the city's concern over a record of sales to minors at the establishment and the city's desire to closely monitor liquor law violations at House Party.
