The Cape Girardeau Board of Education will meet at noon today to hire new teachers and staff.
The meeting will be held at the Board of Education Office at 61 N. Clark.
About 30 teachers retired this year and the district needs to fill its open positions. Since it is the height of the hiring season, the board called a special meeting to do that, said Dr. Steve DelVecchio, business manager.
The only other agenda item is to consider bids for building improvements at L.J. Schultz school.
