The American Red Cross and St. Andrew Lutheran Church are sponsoring a blood drive Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the church, 804 N. Cape Rock Drive in Cape Girardeau.
Blood shortages have been experienced this summer because of hot weather and flooding. Many community blood drives have been canceled because of flooded roads and the need to focus on disaster relief efforts.
To be eligible to give blood, donors must be 17 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds and be in good health.
