CAIRO, Ill. -- Cairo Public Utility customers should see a 20 percent decrease in their gas bills this winter after the company decreases its rates to match those of CIPS, the largest gas supplier in Southern Illinois.
Cairo Public Utility also announced other cost-cutting measures expected to bring down prices, including:
Mayor James Wilson praised the company's efforts as being "fair and competitive to our citizens."
