According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at 11:13 p.m. on U.S. 412, one mile east of Kennett, as the westbound tractor-trailer operated by Alan D. Romdall, 61, of Anderson, Indiana, struck pedestrian Kevin W. Wingate, 48.

Wingate was transported to Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett, where he was pronounced dead.
