Body found along rural New Madrid County road
NEW MADRID, Mo. -- An autopsy was performed Thursday on a body found along a rural New Madrid County road. At 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, the New Madrid County Sheriff's Department was notified of a body found just north of County Road 641 near Lilbourn, the Sikeston Standard Democrat reported. Sheriff Terry Stevens identified the man as William Babb, 49, of Matthews, Mo. According to Stevens, who activated the Major Case Squad to investigate the death, Babb was last seen Saturday night.
