BELL CITY -- A Bernie man sustained serious injuries Monday afternoon in a single-vehicle accident on Highway 91. Harold Causey, 56, was taken by helicopter to Southeast Missouri Hospital after the 1:40 p.m. accident. The mishap occurred approximately 5 miles east of Bell City and 1.2 miles north of the Stoddard County line.
A spokesman for the Missouri Highway Patrol said Causey's westbound vehicle struck a bridge railing, ran off the west side of the road and overturned.
