AREA NATIVE GRADUATES FROM ROLLA WITH HONORS

SCOTT CITY -- Joseph Wade Schumer graduated summa cum laude from the University of Missouri at Rolla with a Bachelor's of science degree in nuclear engineering.

Schumer was involved in several activities at Rolla, including the American Nuclear Society and the Collegium Musicum vocal ensemble.

Schumer, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald N. Schumer of Scott City, plans to attend the University of Michigan and pursue a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering.
