Carson Barnes, left, listens as Ben Krewston, right, attempts to spell the word "illustrating" correctly for first place in the fourth- and fifth-grade bracket of the Lutheran School spelling bee Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Grade School in Jackson. This is the third year the spelling bee has been held at St. Paul, with four area Lutheran schools participating this year.
