Cape Girardeau police and fire departments responded to an accident at South Ellis and Elm streets shortly after 8:20 this morning. A Chrysler PT Cruiser failed to yield, striking a Cadillac. The driver of the Cadillac had to be cut out from her vehicle by the fire department.

Those injured as a result of the accident were transported to St. Francis Medical Center, where three people were treated for non life-threatening injuries.
