Shanel Wilkerson of Cape Girardeau held her new daughter, Azhyda, on Wednesday at Southeast Missouri Hospital. Azhyda was born at 9:50 p.m. Tuesday, the first baby born in 2008 in Cape Girardeau. She weighed 6 pounds, 1 ounce and measured 19 inches long.
