A 16-year-old girl incarcerated at the juvenile detention center set a pair of pants on fire Tuesday causing a small disruption at that facility, said Cape Girardeau firefighters.

Shortly after 3 p.m., emergency workers were called to the scene at 325 Merriwether St., where the juvenile had apparently removed her pants, put them on a bed in the cell she was in and set them ablaze.

No one was hurt in the incident, and automatic fire extinguishers quickly put out the fire.
